Mission 004: Makairo2MandelaBay

A datathon across the corridor, 27–29 November 2026. One convenor, one room, five builders — that is a node, and nobody has to approve it.

Makairo2MandelaBay is run by Reboot Republic and Makairo Studios. It is not a Geekulcha event and it is not related to GKHack26 beyond sharing an audience — no Geekulcha mark, asset or phrasing appears anywhere under /m2mb.

A node is one convenor, one room and five builders. That is the entire requirement. Enrolment is open and needs nobody’s approval: a node in Bulawayo counts exactly as much as a node in Kisumu, and the ten named at launch are simply the ones named first — all proposed, none confirmed.

Five channels, one arena. MAIN is the opening floor; Agriculture, Mobility and Minerals are the tracks; Open Track is where work that fits no track goes, because nothing is turned away for lacking a category.

Briefings replay in any timezone, so nothing is missed by being asleep. The standings refresh on navigation rather than on a timer, and no node can see another node’s builders.

The Wall is the archive, written in public. Every claim, entry and briefing takes a permanent number on the day it lands. Something that turns out to be wrong is superseded by a later number — it is never deleted, and a number is never reissued. It opens empty, and the first entry takes number B-01.

Registration is not open and no date has been set. No reward figure is published, because none has been decided — and a placeholder that looks like a number is worse than an admission.
