1 // Who we are
Reboot Republic is a brand of Lolwe AI & Robotics Studio (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information you share with us through this site.
2 // What we collect
One thing: your email address, if you choose to enter it in the intake form to join the grid. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your location, or your age, and we do not require an account.
We also operate a spam check on that form. It records the time the form was opened and reads a hidden field that real people never fill in. Neither is used to identify you.
3 // Why we process it, and on what basis
We process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and solely to contact you about missions, builder dispatches, and opportunities in the Republic. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.
You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to terminal@rebootrepublic.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.
4 // Who else handles it
Your email address passes through two service providers:
- — Google LLC (Google Sheets), where submissions are recorded.
- — Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft 365), which delivers the notification email to our desk.
Both operate infrastructure outside Kenya, so your data may be transferred and stored abroad. We only use providers that offer protections meeting the standards of the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
5 // How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you want to hear from us, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. If you ask, we delete it promptly, except where the law requires us to retain a record.
6 // Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be told what we hold, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how we use it.
To exercise any of these, write to terminal@rebootrepublic.com. We will respond within the timelines set by law. You do not have to explain why.
7 // Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we find that we hold a record for someone under 18, we delete it. If you believe we hold data about a child, contact us at terminal@rebootrepublic.com and we will delete it.
8 // Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at terminal@rebootrepublic.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya (odpc.go.ke).
9 // Changes
If this policy changes, we update the effective date at the top of this page. We do not change it quietly and we do not backdate it.
